Shaun Cayden Anderson

HI everyone! yeah its been a bit, but as you may have guessed by now, we've been busy with a new little blessing!! he chose to come on Wednesday the 24th of June at 6:46 in the evening! and what an event that was.. it all started when Sherry woke up at about 6:30 in the morning in some major pain.. so after she made herself calm down and try to relax we decided that maybe this was it, and we decided to go in. we dropped the girls off at the finches (THANK YOU FINCHES!!) and headed to the hospital. when we arrived they hooked sherry up to the no-stress machines that monitor the baby, and sherry's contractions, and after almost an hour the nurses decided sherry wasn't progressing as much as they would like so they went to talk to the doctor about sending us home, (which would have been cruel because of how much pain sherry was in..) well the doctor came in and saw how much pain she was in and decided to watch her for a bit longer, well the contractions progressed a little and the doctors noticed something wrong.. with the big contractions the baby's heart rate dropped drastically...where his normal heart rate was around 130, when sherry had a contraction it dropped to the mid 90's... so the doctor decided there was definitely something wrong, and they went ahead and admitted us in the hopes of getting this baby here safe and sound the old fashioned way (no C-sections. Sherry DID NOT want a C-section..) so with the help of some pitosin, and a much needed epidural things got rolling! we knew we had a few hours so we watched the "pink panther 2" which was quite funny, and thankfully helped pass the time. well they came in and checked sherry around 6:25 ish and we were happy to hear she was dilated to a 7! so we figured another hour and a half maybe 2 hours tops! so Cory went ahead and went to get him some dinner, and at about 6:30ish Sherry had to call the nurse in to tell her she felt strange.. the nurse came in and checked on her, and sure enough in the 5 minutes Cory had been gone sherry had completely dilated and baby was ready to come! so Sherry had them page Cory back and thankfully he got there in time!! well things happened, (we wont go into the gory detail..:D) and at 6:46 Shaun Cayden Anderson made his appearance, and the doctor announced that he had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck three times, and he was very VERY pale. so they cut the cord and took him away to get him breathing, and to see if they could get him to be a little more alert! he hadn't cried, hadn't screamed, not even a squeak, and sherry was terrified. the nurses decided he needed fluids and some intensive care so he was taken to the NICU for an IV and some observation, sherry made Cory go with them because she knew as long as Cory was there nothing could go wrong.. so after about 3 hours recovering, and a bit of panicking (sherry REALLY needed to see her baby..) she finally got to hold him and get a bit of good news, the fluids helped bring his color back, and when they gave him his vitamin shot he screamed like a banshee!! and thank goodness he'd passed all the little tests they'd done to make sure there was no brain damage, he was now considered a happy healthy newborn!! we also finally learned that he was 6 pounds 10 ounces! not the "over 7" the ultrasound told us. and he was 21 inches long!

this is him before he got taken to the NICU, he was so pale, it scared us to death! because the cord was wrapped so tight he wasn't getting the oxygen and blood flow he needed, so he was a bit anemic..

him giving daddy a reassuring hand hug...

on the way to the NICU he opened his eyes for a minute.. this is Sherry's favie pic of him..

Our poor baby, minutes old and already getting poked full of holes!! his hand is all wrapped up for the IV...see he's already getting color back!! after all the drama and Sherry finally got to hold her son, they moved her into the mother baby unit and Cory left her and the baby to go get the girls, it was too late to bring them in to meet their brother, so he just took them home and put them to bed. the next day however they got to come in after Kaylee's dental appointment, which we are proud to say the dentists were very happy with how strong her teeth are!
anyways, the girls arrived and were ecstatic to finally meet baby brother!

they waited a long time to meet this little man, and he was a hit! the girls instantly fell in love with him!! Nikoy loves to hold him and help feed him!

Kaylee couldn't resist his charms and had to give him a kiss!

she was as excited to meet him as Cory and sherry were!! she loves holding him as well, Nikoy and Kaylee are forever fighting over who gets to hold him first...

unfortunately because of the triple cord around his neck they made Sherry and the baby stay 2 nights, but they got to come home Friday afternoon, the nurses were all sad to see them go, and they got stopped by 3 or 4 nurses who had to say goodbye..

so we got Baby brother home and settled. this is him in his bouncer, he does have a swing but we decided that because we'll be going back to the states in a month, and our belongings will be packed up and shipped off in about 2 weeks, there's really no point to putting it together, so we'll be using the bouncer until we get settled in the states. either way he LOVES it! it plays 10 different songs from lullaby's to classical music, and it even has a noise maker, so baby boy can sit and listen to the ocean, or the rain, or even a heartbeat! and it vibrates! he loves that.

these are his toes,, aren't they the cutest most kissable toes in the world???
well, that's about all we have to report on so far, we are all doing great! we're happy to finally have the baby here, we are already getting started with the packing and de-junking of our house. getting ready for the movers to come. sherry is insisting on packaging up all her willow tree figurines, she doesn't trust the Germans to understand the importance of them, everyone of her figurines hold sentimental value, and she knows if they were to break in the move the company would replace them, but they cant replace the significant value.. so she's doing it herself. the movers can pack up the packages....Cory is also having to box up his collections of corvettes and superman figurines.. for the same reasons as sherry..we don't trust the movers.. we are also having to throw away a lot of junk and clutter, so we're digging through closets and cupboards and what not. Monday the 29th is baby Shaun's first appointment we'll let you all know how that goes. we also get to go back to the hospital to take care of his birth certificate and get his passport stuff rolling.. so wish us luck on that!! any who, we gotta go.. everyone take care and be safe!! we love you all!

Isnt he precious??!?!?
so precious....

'nuther update...

so all is still well.. unfortunately baby boy is still being stubborn!! he's head down, but unfortunately he's facing the wrong direction...oy.. so.. we have scheduled Friday morning to go in and have him forced out..:D the choice is no longer his to make! MWA HAHAHAH! he's not even born yet and I'm already having to use my " Because I'm the mommy and i said so" logic on him... he has until Friday to do it on his own, but we've decided if he's not here by Thursday then Friday he has no other choice.. he's getting quite big, he's well over 7 pounds now, and unfortunately i have a very narrow birth canal (sorry TMI i know..) but the point is the bigger he gets, the more of a chance of a C-section i have, and i DO NOT want a c-section, and honestly at this point is really not an option. if i want to fly home with Cory and the girls, he needs to get here the good old fashioned way... so yeah.. no more worrying, no more hoping, its going to happen Friday!!! I'm so excited!! as some of you know the kids on Cory's side of the family all have cute nicknames, in fact nikoy is known as "din" or "wild woman" and Kaylee has been named mouse by me, because i cant go into my kitchen without finding 4 or 5 singles cheese wrappers all over the place! she LOVES cheese!! so she's my mouse, and i have affectionately dubbed this little boy as Ox. because he's stubborn as one, and it also happens to be the year of the ox...:D so he's my ox.. for now, I'm sure when he gets here and we see more of his personality it probably wont change...:) he'll still be stubborn I'm sure.. if anything this pregnancy has taught me anything, its that girls are much easier!! yes the morning sickness sucked when i was pregnant with them.
but at least they waited till they'd been born before they started being naughty...

AAAARRGGGHHH!!!!!..and stuff...

so we are a bit frustrated and trying REALLLLY hard to be patient... here's the story..
we went into the doctor on the 16th, after a frustrating 15th. we were supposed to be induced on the 15th, but were unable to because my OB decided he'd rather go on vacation then make my life slightly..easier.. i guess.. so i woke up at 3:30 on Thursday morning and was having some nasty contractions... which bothered me alot with having Nikoy and Kaylee i didn't feel a thing until my water broke.. but i was sure feeling these!! so cory woke up and asked if i was ok, i told i was, but he didn't believe me, so we decided to go to the doctor to see if we were having a baby, so we dropped the girls off with our friends the barretts, because it was 4 am and we knew at least jerome was awake because he works at 4:30.. and because i felt bad calling anyone else that early because everyone else has toddlers, and no one wants to start their day at 5 in the morning with four or more toddlers running and screaming, i knew aurora would stay asleep and i knew Nikoy and Kaylee wouldn't go back to sleep for a while so, angela was the best idea at the time!....anywho..so we got to the hospital and they checked me in and it was the most irritating thing in the world because it was so early, and i was the only one there!! every room was empty i was the ONLY patient and they treated me like i was crashing a birthday party or something.. the guy that checked me in was less then nice, the first nurse they sent to me treated me like i was wasting her time, she wanted to do a check and i told her some information that i think might be TMI for some of you out there but it was enough info that she had to get someone else to the test... darn..so the next nurse they brought in was (thankfully) so much nicer!! she was so sweet and she just smiled the whole time, and i actually felt like it was ok that i was there... so she ran a few tests, and she decided that even though my contractions are 1-2 minutes apart, i wasn't dilating enough... so they had me go walk around the hospital for like 3 hours, and she said if i came back and showed some sign of improvement she could talk them into just keeping me and getting this baby birthing thing over with.. so i walked and walked until i got 2 blisters, (OWIE!!) and my feet were swollen! it was terribly annoying.. and when i went back they checked and i had dilated a little bit more, but unfortunately not enough to convince the doctors.. and on top of the dilating thing, the baby wouldn't stay put.. he'd lower into the whole birthing possition, and then change his mind and go for another swim..so my body is telling me its more then ready, and the baby's just being stubborn.. so home we went...sigh.. so i have an OB appointment today. the contractions are still pretty strong and pretty close together, and i've been doing ALOT of walking and cleaning, and an hour a day on my WII fit.. so hopefully, its been enough, i know i know he'll come when he's good and ready but seriously... we're running out of time.. we'll be leaving for the states on (or around) the 31st of July.. yes you read that right.. we'll be in the states by the 31st of July... that gives us 5 weeks to get the baby here, get his birth certificate, his social security number and most important his passport! if we don't get him a passport he doesn't come home with us!! luckily there are ways we can put a rush on it, but the longer he decides to stay put the less time we have to get ready, we also have to get our house ready to be packed up and moved, we have to get our car ready for shipping, we have so many appointments to make and go to its not even funny!! we all have eye appointments coming up, Kaylee and me have a dental, nikoys done with her dentals thank goodness, we all get to go in for last well checks, just to be sure the girls are up to date on everything, i have WIC appointments, i have dermatology appointments because i need to figure out how i can get rid of this nasty red chin before i run out of insurance!! the list goes on and on and on, and it would be so much easier to complete if he would show up.. in fact its going to suck, because i have to figure out what kind of birth control i want to get on before we leave because we wont be here for a six week exam! probably the patch again....cuz i cant do another IUD or anything like that till at least 6 weeks.. *sigh*.. so yeah.. its all going to suck big time...so if we get to this appointment today and they still don't think he wants to come by himself I'm going to make them force him.. if he's not born today i will at least be sent home with a date to induce.. I'm 39 weeks and like 4 days so all he's doing right now is gaining more weight.. and honestly he's already over 7 pounds, I've never had a 7 pound baby, i could barely handle a 6 pound baby....so he needs to get here, he can gain weight just as easily after he's born!!... jeez.. :) anywho.. I'm going to go.. wish me luck!! pray for me!! LOVE YOU ALL!!!

oh the drama...

so what a interesting 9ish days its been! cory left on the fifth for san antonio to argue his case with the military board and unfortunately they have thier minds set on separating us, so we have a few short weeks (8ish..) left in the military then its off to something...different i guess, we havent quite decided what, and i doubt we will completely decide till something happens.. we do have lots of options we just need to sit with pen and paper and decided what options we actually want to go for, and which ones are better then others, and what not.. so when we finally come to a decision on our future we'll let everyone know.. anywho Cory gets home tomorrow morning (that would be Sunday..) and thankfully despite a few scares the baby is still where he's supposed to be.... for now.. as soon as cory gets home he can come whenever he wants, but he's being good and waiting for daddy! so YAY! i wont have to go through this birth alone! any who..
we did manage to have some fun while cory was gone, we went to our best friends places for dinner a few times! we went swimming with ben and merritt finch, here's a few cute pics in the locker room..:) i know Nana has been wanting to see the girls in their swimming suits she sent so here ya go Nana!

to much fun, i also caved in and let the girls do a fun craft day, i bought some red finger paint and let the girls go to town.. the mess was huge but so much fun to make!!
thankfully i was smart enough to cover their picnic table in newspaper, unfortunately i wasn't smart enough to pull their hair out of their faces...so, for a day or two the girls had little red streaks that refused to come out.. thankfully they are blond again!! it took a wash or two..:)

don't mind the underoo's, i didn't have anything else for them to use, so they just stripped to their necessities..:D

well as you all may remember from my last post i mentioned going to see UP and getting a wading pool, well we went and saw UP and it was sooooooooooo dang cute!!! the little short they do before pixar movies was my most favorite one yet!! (given my current situation..:D) it was hard to pay attention at first because the couple sitting next to me had to sit and argue about what movie we were watching, i finally butted in and said "we're watching UP.. " and the lady looked at me and said "are you sure? i was so positive we were watching night at the museum" i assured her we were watching up and felt really bad when she started crying... i had to reassure her i knew how she felt, i know I've lost quite a few brain cells since i got pregnant.. at least it made her smile again.. anywho, so we watched the movie and it was fantastic, if you haven't seen it yet i highly recommend it!! we'll probably go see it again if cory gets home and hasn't seen it yet!
i know the girls wont mind.. anywho, after the movie we went and got a wading pool and sadly from the time we got it home till, today in fact, it has been cold and wet and rainy and not pool friendly weather.. so today when we woke up to beautiful warm sunshine and i nice gentle breeze we spent a little while cleaning off the balcony and setting up the pool.

the girls had a fantastic time in it!!

my little buggers...

anywho.. so yeah we are so excited to get Cory home! the girls are more excited then i am i think, at least they act like it, i mention he gets home and its like I've just given them a double tall mocha late...they are EVERYWHERE!! bouncing off walls yelling "daddy's coming home!" at the top of their little lungs!! i just don't have the energy to respond like that.. :D any who i managed to catch kaylee in a few silly positions and i thought everyone could use a giggle so here ya go, for your viewing pleasure.. my daughter who can sleep ANYWHERE, in ANY position... its so not fair..
she doesn't want dinner, so what does she do? g'night!

who needs pillows??

it must be laundry day.. check out the penguin tucked in next to her... how thoughtful...
so tired...
nikoy decided kaylee had the right idea and kicked the penguin out.. oh well.. anywho.. that's our week(ish) everything is going well, for now.. we'll keep in touch as things progress.. LOVES!!

quick update!!

so we had a doctors appointment yesterday (and no he's not been born yet, so don't get your hopes up..) and we are happy to announce that baby Shaun currently weighs in at approximately 6 pounds 10 ounces, which is FANTASTIC because Nikoy was 5.10, and Kaylee was 6.8, so he already out weighs their birth weights, so lets hope he gives us 2 more weeks and gains just a bit more..the doctor got worried because apparently I'm to small to be almost 38 weeks pregnant. and the ultra sound confirmed that the baby is doing great.. he's really uncomfortable, but he's growing good! so no more worries. and yes he's still a boy.. Cory made the doc check.. :D.. he he,
anywho, Cory left this morning for San Antonio, he's on the 10 hour flight to Dallas, then he heads off to San Antonio from there, so he'll be in the air a little under 12 hours today. he'll be gone till the 14th. so nine days...we're keeping our fingers crossed that this little boy wants to stay put for at least that long, Cory gets home early on Sunday, so if baby wants to come Sunday afternoon, i wouldn't complain...:) Cory might, but i think it would make a great welcome home present... anywho.. so that's whats going on right now.. nothing really new, we'll probably be going to see UP today so I'll let ya'll know if its good, we're also going to go buy a wading pool for our balcony so the girls can have a break from the heat of our third story, unair-conditioned apartment so yeah.. we're gonna go get to it.. :) everyone please keep Cory in your prayers, i really would like him to get to San Antonio safely, and I'd like it even more if he got back here safely too... so. :) any prayers will help..:) thanks!! love you all!
